The Nutrition Society Grants
The Nutrition Society has a range of Grants available to members, and a number of other grants we promote on behalf of organisations we work closely with.
GRANT
As part of the Nutrition Society’s efforts to support learned societies in the developing countries, the Nutrition Society ANEC Travel Fellowship 2018 Award supports deserving students or young scientists worldwide to enable them participate in the 8th Africa Nutrition Conference (ANEC VIII) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 1 to 5 October 2018.
GRANT
The British Science Association Media Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for practising scientists, clinicians and engineers to spend two to six weeks working at the heart of a media outlet such as the Guardian, BBC Breakfast or The Londonist. Selected Fellows will be mentored by professional journalists with the aim to give them, and their colleagues via dissemination post-placement; the confidence and willingness to engage with the media; tackle issues of mistrust and misrepresentation and to give journalists access to new scientific expertise.
GRANT
Conference Grants are available to those Society members who can least afford to attend scientific meetings and conferences around the world. Conference Grants are reserved for any members of the Society who are undergraduates doing their first degree, MSc students or PhD students or those in the very early stages of their careers i.e. within 10 years of higher degree graduation. Part of our remit is to support nutritionists and nutrition scientists to share their ideas and research, present their work to new audiences and make new connections with their peers around the world.

Applications are invited for a Rank Prize Nutrition Fund New Lecturer Award in the area of human or animal nutrition or crop science. The grant is available to newly-appointed lecturers, researchers of equivalent status in research institutes, or fellows with their own independent support, working in a UK institution. Applicants should be within the first two years of their appointment and will normally be 3 - 9 years from their PhD. However, allowance will be made for career breaks. GRANT
The Nutrition Society is delighted to offer Summer studentships aimed at undergraduates interested in a career in nutritional science. The studentships will provide undergraduates, registered on nutrition or related degree programmes, with the opportunity to undertake a period of research in a university, research institute or industrial setting. All applicants must have an academic supervisor based at the university at which they are registered.
